Jon has spent his career working in commercial real estate. His passion for the industry can easily be found through every related conversation in and out of the office. Jon founded Ski Town Commercial Real Estate in 2009, a year when most attempted to talk him out of the risky move. Since then, Ski Town Commercial has grown to be the leader in the trade. Jon advises appraisers, developers, and landlords. He consults to banks, startups and even troubled asset owners. It’s not about a commission check, it’s about the end goal for each client. Creative Solutions is his real niche that helped transform Steamboat’s commercial markets and grew Ski Town Commercial Real Estate by Word of Mouth. This isn’t just a job for Jon, it is a longtime dream that he walks in every day. Jon grew up around the real estate business with his family. His passion for the industry goes back to turning over rentals with parents before he could even drive a vehicle legally. The interest continued into college where he studied business and real estate at CU Boulder. By graduation, he was managing a mix of over 70 units from residential to commercial. The commercial niche caught further interest which led to a move to the Denver area where he learned the detailed trade of commercial brokerage. After starting the Construction Management Graduate program at CSU, he dropped the Front Range traffic for a better lifestyle in Steamboat Springs. Seeking his dream, Jon made the move to Steamboat in 2007 and joined a Downtown Development team working on the revitalization and development of Downtown. To this day, he still works closely with those beautiful projects and continues to work on the future of downtown steamboat. Jon is the past President of the Board of Main Street Steamboat. He spends his spare time working toward a more vibrant and safer downtown. He envisions a downtown that better connects to our downtown playground, Howelsen Hill. He sees the Howelsen fairgrounds becoming more of a town park, a place for festivals, rodeos, and more future Olympians. Together with strategic planning and development, Steamboat will grow and still be a place his kids will love forever.
